The thing about growth is that for the most part, you might find yourself to be a bit ill prepared. On some days you may have more questions than answers. And for a significant number of days, you might have self doubt. And this can really send you on a detour far away from your path, or it can send you on a completely different trajectory from the one you are already on.
Such is life.
I have come to find that the greatest asset that one could possibly ever possess is a strong mind. Agility. The ability to think despite circumstantial hurdles. Strategy. Out of the box thoughts. Foresight. To be honest, I find myself very drawn to people who exhibit such personal attributes. It is inspirational. It is admirable. There is a lot more can be said in this regard.
I study economics, as I have mentioned so many times on my social media, and to anyone who cares to listen, really. And I think what draws me the most to this subject is the serious understanding of human behavior. Generally this is with reference to our choices as consumers and firms, but I also apply it in real life; every day living. There are so many strategic approaches here that I find absolutely interesting, but they all boil down to one thing: understanding the end goal.
Foresight.
The ability to see what lies ahead. Or what you want to achieve up ahead. This could be with reference to so many aspects of life. Sometimes you work on a vision that only you can see. You might even look crazy for doing what you do because, in essence, you are the only one that can see that vision. This reminds me of the story about Noah and the ark he built. How he would tell people that there will be a flood coming, and that he was building the ark in preparation for such a time. And you have to understand that not everyone has foresight. And in essence, not everyone has the same level of foresight as you do. And this can make you question and doubt yourself a lot especially when you try and bounce ideas with those closest to you and they shut it down.
For some reason, as is human behavior, we tend to believe other people’s perspectives and opinions a little more than our own thoughts and ideas. I cannot imagine how many dreams and ideas this simple act must have ended over the years; and will continue to crash unless one has some great levels of introspect.
I have come to love and understand my own thoughts a lot more over the past few years. If I am being completely honest, however, it took a lot of actual validation for me to genuinely and actively believe in the inner strength that I possess. This should not be the case.
If ever you are in doubt of your own abilities and skills, look inward. A lot of the answers you seek are right within you. You have everything that you need to scale high naturally within yourself. Tap into that. And grow. Excel.
You can do this!
