One of the things that scare me the most is a lack of control; being in a position where I lack control. And that’s pretty much why I refuse to take alcohol, among other reasons.
But today I want to talk about situations in life where we cannot control nor change the circumstances. Have you ever been in a situation where you wish you could just change things to be more in line with what you want? How did you feel when you realized that there was nothing you could do about it? Frustrated?
We often worry ourselves about so many things, most of which do not concern us. We worry about past opportunities, past relationships, past jobs, among others. All of these things are beyond our control. While we choose to worry, we take away our mental peace; we take away today’s peace. We worry ourselves sick; we cause ourselves to develop certain complications that we could have easily avoided if we just took a minute to breathe and take things easy.
Life is full of uncertain events. The fact that they are uncertain means that we are not in control.
I taught myself to always trust the process. So far, it’s worked perfectly for me. It is said that what is meant for you will not pass you. That what is meant to be on your path will meet you when it is planned to do so. That you will realize all that has been set aside for you; it’s yours.
Do not stress yourself over things you cannot change or control.
Psalms 29: 11
That is where your faith comes in. There are battles that are not meant for you. Your Father in heaven has you covered.
You achieve mental freedom when you realize this. When you learn to trust the process. When you choose to only fight for what is within your grip; that which you can control.
Mental peace grants you mental freedom.
Peace of mind gives you peace at heart.
A calm mind is as a result of choosing the right things to focus your energy on. Let what you cannot control be. Focus on what you can. The rest will fall in place.
Have a great week!
